Seattle Mariners Lee Tinsley, Russell Branyan, Jason Phillips, Franklin Gutierrez, Jose Lopez and David Aardsma thrilled the student body at Lawton Elementary School last week.
Over cheers and adulation, players spoke to students about staying drug-free and keeping a positive attitude. Fifth-grader Tyler Hoogendoorn was hoping to see Brandon Morrow, and everyone, including fifth-grader Luthian Pierce, wanted to see Ichiro, but seeing any Mariners player up close and personal was fun enough.
