According to Seattle Police Department incident report, two suspects driving a gold 1999 Lincoln Navigator fired on an 18-year-old man, who was dropped off in the Safeway parking lot by a red 2001 Kia Sportage on June 22 at 8:30 p.m. The man was shot in his forearm.
The victim told officers at the hospital that he knew he was shot in the forearm and fell to the ground to avoid being hit by more bullets before the Navigator sped away. Officers stopped the Navigator in the 9800 block of 57th Ave. S. and questioned the two 18-year-old men in the SUV about the shooting.
They initially denied knowledge of the incident, but then stated they were fired on several times by the occupants of the Kia, whom they said were dressed in red and from the Central District. The men were arrested for suspected involvement in the shooting, and the Gang Unit impounded their Navigator.
