Magnolia therapist to climb Mt. Hood for cancer awareness

Robin Schoenfeld Olson, a resident of Wedgewood, and a physical therapist in Magnolia, will climb Mt. Hood on June 7-8, to raise awareness and raise funds to fight breast cancer.The Manual Therapy International therapist in will join 17 others in the quest for the summit as part of Climb to Fight Breast Cancer, a fundraiser for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC). Along with her fellow climbers, Olson has pledged to raise $3,000 for breast cancer research programs being conducted at FHCRC. Olson is climbing to celebrate the survival of a friend's mother who battled breast cancer. She is also climbing in honor of both of her grandfathers who had leukemia, and a grandmother who has cancer. With a history of running marathons, hiking and skiing, Olson also considers this, her first ever mountain climbing expedition, a personal challenge. This year marks the 11th anniversary of the Climb to Fight Breast Cancer. Since its inception it has raised more than $3 million for breast cancer research conducted at FHCRC. More fundraising climbs will take place this summer at other peaks in Washington and around the world.[[In-content Ad]]
