Budigan further helped the senator by making mail deliveries, working in the Senate offices and on the Senate floor during debates, votes and hearings.
She also attended Legislative School for two hours each day and learned about how the state government works. She worked from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and, her mother said, was "surprised at how long the hours were."
The 13-year-old has a strong interest in politics. She came in second place during a recent oratory competition at Seattle Prep and next year is going to run for student-body president of St. Joseph School in Capitol Hill.[[In-content Ad]]
