Kudos for ‘Neighborly’ story
I thoroughly enjoyed your article on the meaning of “neighbor” (“Neighborly Neighbors,” March 6). Well done.
I like the fact there was no melodrama, that you were able to convey emotion without it being a tearjerker or an outright lesson in morals. The testimonial questions and answers shed light on the person and the impression she made on others.
To be a sensitive, caring and helpful neighbor while allowing people their privacy and dignity at all times — a good lesson for all of us to follow.

Kidney-donors story needs two clarifications
That was an excellent article on kidney problems in the March 13 edition (“Breaking Away from ‘the Machine”: The Rising Need for Living Kidney Donors”), but I would offer one small correction.
The article says “...patients who receive dialysis...are expected to follow a strict diet and regimen of immunosuppressant drugs....” Those drugs are required only after transplant to prevent rejection of the new kidney.
Also, peritoneal dialysis, not discussed in the article, does not require the limitations on fluid intake associated with hemodialysis.
