LETTERS | Marijuana story highlights alarmist perspective

On behalf of KeepItCottage.org: This is an article of low journalistic standards, with about 80 percent of it being quotations from alarmist people who are too entrenched in the medical-cannabis market to have a clear perspective.

Attempts by people in the medical market to thwart the success of I-502 are counter-productive for the overall cannabis-legalization movement. NORML supported I-502, and they have had their eye on the prize for more than 40 years.

“Divide and concur” has been one of the key strategies used against the cannabis community, and even in a state where cannabis has been legal medicinally since 1998 and recreationally for six months now, cannabis advocates are being divided over the concept of legalization (unthinkable 20 years ago).

It’s in the best interest of Washington state, the country and the world to see success from the first major attempt at ending cannabis prohibition. We will see social and economic success, which can benefit so many people.
