[Regarding “Eminent Domain for City’s Profit,” Oct. 30, 2013:] I appreciated your editorial supporting Myrtle Woldson, the 103-year-old Spokane woman who is standing up to the pressure of the City of Seattle to sell her land.
I did NOT appreciate your referring to her as a “little, old lady” at the close of your article. This is a demeaning term, which suggests diminished power (as well as physical stature) just because she is old.
We don’t know how tall the elderly Woldson is (she might be 6 feet [tall] for all we know), but we do know that this is one powerful, tough woman who deserves not to be diminished so flippantly.
