Lane restrictions starting on Mercer, Broad streets

The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) is restricting lanes on Mercer and Broad streets beginning tomorrow, Thursday, May 9.

Eastbound Mercer Street will have the left lane restricted from just west of Dexter to Ninth avenues North on Friday, May 10, from about 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Westbound Mercer and Broad streets will have the left lane restricted from Westlake Avenue North to Harrison Street from 8 a.m. Thursday, May 9, until 3 p.m. May 17.

Lane restrictions on Mercer and Broad streets will allow crews to re-channelize the roadway in preparation for reopening Broad Street to eastbound traffic on May 20, following the full weekend closure of state Route 99 for Mercer West construction.

A uniformed police officer will be positioned at the intersection of Mercer Street and Ninth Avenue North during peak travel hours to facilitate traffic flow.
