Appeals are made, unless otherwise noted, to the Office of the Hearing Examiner, Seattle Municipal Tower, 40th Floor (SMT-40-00), 700 Fifth Ave., Suite 4000, Seattle, WA 98104. Permit applications

1827 Broadway (3007889) for a Land Use Application to allow light-rail transit-facility construction and staging area (Capitol Hill Station). Review includes demolition of 17 buildings (retail and restaurant uses, 81 residential units and 116 parking spaces) and excavation of material. Related projects under Nos. 3007888 and 3007887. Final Environmental Impact Statement (November 1999) and the North Link Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (April 2006) prepared by Sound Transit. Written comments accepted through Wednesday, Dec. 26.

506 Belmont Ave. E. (3006603) for a Land Use Application to allow one six-story, multi-family structure for a total of 40 units. Parking for 56 vehicles to be provided below and at-grade. Existing structures to be demolished. The following approvals are required: SEPA environmental determination. Building permit may be needed but was not included in this application. Written comments accepted through Wednesday, Jan. 2.


Permit decisions

1515 Melrose Ave. E. (3008113) on a Land Use Application to change the use of an auto-repair building to restaurant and retail. The following appealable decision has been made based on submitted plans: Determination of Non-Significance with conditions (no Environmental Impact Statement required). Environmental review completed, and project conditioned as applicable. The hearing examiner must receive appeals of this decision no later than Jan. 3.

1911 E. Pine St. (3008145) on a Land Use Application to subdivide one parcel into seven unit lots. The construction of residential units has been approved under Project No. 6092563. This subdivision of property is only for the purpose of allowing sale or lease of the unit lots. Development standards will be applied to the original parcel and not to each of the new unit lots. The following appealable decision has been made based on submitted plans: Short Subdivision to create seven unit lots conditionally granted. The hearing examiner must receive appeals of this decision no later than Jan. 3.


Design reviews

1210 11th Ave. (3007732) to demolish existing single-family residence and construct six-story building, including 48 units of housing, common amenities, retail and underground parking for 18 vehicles. At the early design guidance meeting, the applicants will present information about the site and vicinity; the public may offer comments regarding the design and siting on the subject site. The meeting will take place Jan. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Seattle Central Community College, 1701 Broadway, in Room 3211. 1205 E. Pine St. (3005929) of a five-story structure containing 61 residential units and retail space and office space at ground level. Parking for 36 vehicles will be provided below-grade. At the Design Review Board meeting the applicant will present information about the proposed design and how it responds to the Design Guideline priorities established at the Early Design Guidance Board meeting on July 18, 2007, regarding this site; the public may offer comments regarding the proposed design.
