A panel of judges for The Young Artist Awards, sponsored by Classical KING-FM 98.1 and Seattle Chamber Music Society, have narrowed down entries to 10 finalists. KING-FM invites the community to vote for their favorites with an on-line voting system at www.KING.org through Monday, May 13.
The Young Artist Awards competition, now in its second year, encourages enjoyment and performance of classical music for regional young musicians as part of the Classical KING-FM educational initiative, in partnership with Seattle Chamber Music Society.
The competition is in two categories (ages 6 to 13 and 14 to 20) and includes non-professional acoustic instrumentalists, vocalists and chamber groups of up to nine people. One winner in each age category will be chosen on Tuesday, May 14.
The 10 finalists will perform on May 10 on KING -FM’s “NW Focus Live” program at 8 p.m., hosted by Sean MacLean in the Classical KING=FM studios.
On May 24, the two winners will win an evening on “NW Focus LIVE” as the featured guests.[[In-content Ad]]
