Kindergarten registration in the Lake Washington School District for the 2005 - 2006 school year begins on March 2 from 1-7 p.m.
Parents can register their child at their neighborhood school beginning March 2 or on any school day thereafter until schools close in June.
Some things to remember:

Registration resumes in August for the 2005 - 2006 school year
To identify your home school, call LWSD Transportation 882-5120.
To attend kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2005. (For information on early entrance program call 702-3331.)
Materials to bring
Proof of child's birth date (birth or hospital certificate, passport)
Child's health history, including current immunization information
Names, addresses, phone numbers of parents, physician, dentist and persons to call in case of an emergency.
Two available options 1. Regular half-day program (a.m. or p.m.)
All elementary schools offer half-day. (At times it is necessary to transport students to another school due to enrollment)
A random draw or lottery will be conducted from all registrants if necessary on March 10 to determine "overflow" students. The district will be responsible for transportation.
All-Day Program
Elementary schools offer all-day programs where space is available.
In the event that a school receives more than 21 registrants a lottery drawing will occur on March 10 to determine the 21 students per classroom. Those not selected will be contacted and given the opportunity to enroll their child in the half-day program.
Parents of children not selected for the add-day program have the opportunity to enroll their child at any other all-day program with available space. Parents must provide transportation for all-day kindergarten programs located outside their home school attendance area.
Approximate tuition for All-Day Program
$2,400 (per student)
$850 (for those who qualify for reduced fee)
$450 (for those who qualify for free lunch)
An automatic check handling form, plus a voided check is required at the time of registration for the all-day program.
