Some people get out of town for the Labor Day weekend.
And so many others head for Bumbershoot.
This year's Bumbershoot, Seattle's Music and Arts Festival, happens Saturday, Sept. 1, through Monday, Sept. 3, at the Seattle Center.
It's billed as North America's biggest urban arts festival. One Reel, which produces the three-day event, expects about 50,000 people each day.
This year's music headliners include Fergie, John Legend, the Shins, Wu-Tang Clan, Joss Stone and Crowded House.
Streets around the Seattle Center will remain open over the holiday weekend except for a small area at Second Avenue West and Thomas Street. That's where festival organizers will install a bicycle corral. Attendees are encouraged to ride their bikes to the event and tie up there.
Tickets are available at bumbershoot.org, Ticketmaster outlets and selected Starbucks stores or by calling 628-0888. For more information and a complete lineup of Bumbershoot events, visit bumbershoot.org
