Homelessness event needs hundreds of volunteers

United Way of King County is seeking volunteers to help with the Unite to End Homelessness Community Resource Exchange on Nov. 13 and 15.

This community-wide event will provide as many as 1,300 homeless individuals with immediate access to health services, housing referrals and other critical social services.

The Unite to End Homelessness Community Resource Exchange will take place in two locations - at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall in downtown Seattle on Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and at the Spirit of Washington Event Center in Renton on Nov. 15 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. More than 600 volunteers are needed to help health, housing and social service providers at the two sites.

The event is a collaborative effort involving United Way of King County; the Committee to End Homelessness in King County; King County; the cities of Seattle, Bellevue, Renton and Kent; and the Church Council of Greater Seattle. It is funded by a grant from the Fannie Mae Foundation as a part of its national Help the Homeless initiative.
