'Have you given up on Peace in the Middle East?'

NICK SHULTS

"No, I haven't. I am an idealist."

LINDA BROWN

"Until we get an administration that can take an even-handed approach, there is very little prospect for that. This administration is so allied to the state of Israel that they cannot look at the fact that there is culpability on both sides. This approach has done and continues to do such incredible damage to the standing of this country in the Middle East and the rest of the world. The U. S. has become Israel."

CONNIE MARTIN

"No. I never give up on peace. It is a discouraging situation, but we have to be hopeful. What is the alternative?"

JOHN GAYMAN

"I'd say no. I think that it is possible that we could talk to the Syrians. The Syrians are not directly involved, but since they are a Sunni country I think that it is possible that our diplomacy could help put a wedge between Hezbollah and Iran. But our approach of supporting Israel is wrong. Israel's use of force is way out of proportion, and attacking Lebanon's civilian infrastructure is inappropriate. We need to pressure Israel to cease fire."

JEFF BLOOM

"Short answer would be yes. Every time there is any hope of peace, something happens to instigate another uprising. They go back and forth. To me, it just doesn't seem that they even welcome the idea of peace. I wonder sometimes if they even remember what they are fighting for."

ABBY McPHEARSON

"No. I will always have hope. I have faith that God will make a difference and it will happen when the time is right. I guess that the time is not now."
