'Great Fish Ladder' added to benefit Fishermen's Memorial

Magnolia resident and Queen Anne native Mark Christopher, morning host of WARM 106.9 and TV host for “KCTS 9 Cooks,” will conduct “The Great Fish Ladder Contest” at this weekend’s Fishermen’s Fall Festival.

This Saturday, Sept. 7, at 2:30 p.m. at Fishermen’s Terminal (3919 18th Ave. W.),
Christopher will be sent high in the sky to conduct “The Great Fish Ladder Contest,” to benefit the Fishermen’s Memorial. This will be done with the Seattle Fire Department’s (SFD) now-retired 1969 Kenworth-Maxim Tractor-Drawn Tillered Aerial. This unit was used in 1978 in an episode of NBC’s “Emergency” as Squad 51 and its crew were brought to Seattle to rescue a roof worker from a cable hanging near the ceiling inside the Kingdome.

Christopher will sell raffle tickets for this event while he emcees the festival. A $5 raffle ticket will put your name on the ground near the truck. From high above, he will fish with a rod and reel for a name below and award a Festival Family Prize Pack to the winner. All funds received will benefit the Fishermen’s Memorial.
