Framing Pictures seeks connection

The October conversation takes place this coming Friday the 19th, 5 p.m. at Northwest Film Forum. Herald/KUOW film critic Robert Horton, Parallax View linksman Bruce Reid, and I shall settle onto (and try to keep from sliding off) our chairs for an hour-and-a-half of movie talk.

On our verbal dance card will be Milestone Film & Video's revival of Shirley Clarke's 1962 more-indie-than-indie The Connection, the 100th anniversary retrospective of Universal Pictures (due, like The Connection, at NWFF), the full-length restoration of the 1971 Australian movie Wake in Fright (a cut version was released Stateside as Outback), and maybe Frank Capra and Cary Grant's odd-film-out Arsenic and Old Lace (to have a Halloween showcase at Grand Illusion Cinema).

Come join in—the talk is freewheeling and admittance is free. Beer/wine/exotic soft drinks you pay for.

NWFF is at 1515 12th Ave., between Pine and Pike. —RTJ
