Fishermen's Festival coming into port on Sept. 22

More than 200 volunteers will be on hand to help celebrate the return of the North Pacific fishing fleet to Fishermen’s Terminal during the Fishermen’s Fall Festival on Sept. 22, while also helping to raise money for the Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial Foundation.

The annual free event, now in its 24th year, will include a salmon barbecue, lutefisk-eating, salmon-filleting and oyster-slurping contests, survival-suit races, a U.S. Coast Guard at-sea rescue demonstration, numerous children’s activities and scheduled musical performances.

All events will take place at Fishermen’s Terminal, 1900 W. Nickerson St., with proceeds benefiting the Fishermen’s Memorial Foundation, which assists families of fishers lost at sea.
