The Golden Plungers' offensive resurgence continued on Saturday morning, May 30, at Queen Anne Field No. 3 against Queen Anne's Video Isle.
Nearly every player scored or drove in at least one run in the 18-0 rout, with Kevin Miller (4 for 5, 3 runs, 2 RBI) and Jason Books (3 for 4, four runs, 3 RBI) leading the way.
Fischer's pitchers were also sharp. Following Will Schmidt's near perfect 2 inning, 5 strikeout performance, the Fischer staff allowed only 1-hit in the entire ball game.
April 28 at Raye Field
The Golden Plungers took both ends of a twin bill against United Warehouses on Thursday, April 28, by the scores of 2-1 and 12-1.
In the first game - an extra-inning continuation of a previous contest that was halted with the score tied - the two teams battled for two more innings before consecutive hits by Jason Books, Will Schmidt and Ian Zapolsky pushed across the winning run to secure the one-run win for Fischer Plumbing.
In the nightcap game, the Plungers' offense broke loose, scoring 12 runs on 14 hits. Will Schmidt (3 for 4, 1 RBI), Kevin Miller (2 for 4, 2 RBIs), Paolo Magno (1 for 2) and Chris Wozniak (2 for 4, 4 RBIs) all doubled in the winning effort.
Meanwhile, Fischer Plumbing's pitching staff, led by Owen Quinton in his first Majors outing, managed to hold United to 2 hits and 1 run, thanks in large part to a razor sharp Plunger defense that recorded 22 of the 24 United Warehouses outs over the two games Thursday evening.[[In-content Ad]]
