Fire rips through warehouse in south Seattle

No one hurt in 3-alarm fire at Sunny Jim building

A 3-alarm fire erupted in the former Sunny Jim building in south Seattle this afternoon. The building was empty. No one was hurt.
Fire fighters trained water hoses on the blaze for several hours while police roped off intersections at Airport Way South and Industrial Way, which runs alongside Interstate 5.
Traffic on I-5 limped along as curious drivers eyed the nearby fire and smoke wafted across the freeway obstructing views. People working in the neighborhood gathered to watch fire fighters and police work to extinquish the fire, which began about 2 p.m. The intensity of the flames burned through the roof of the brick building. No word yet on the cause of the fire.[[In-content Ad]]
