Eighteen staff members from Finn Hill Junior High School served up burgers, fries and Happy Meals during the dinner rush at the Juanita McDonald's on Jan. 25. Staff members included Victor Scarpelli (principal), Jennifer Lewis (assistant principal), Mary Taylor (librarian), Linda Siebert (instructional assistant), Brian Fornia (custodian), Phillip Clements (custodian), Tak Hirai, (office manager) and Sandra Stephens (library secretary).
Teachers who participated were Susan Williams, Tiffany Acker, Sona Stockham, Marion Mays, Jack Donley, Eric Lucke, Lee Ann Krohn, Katy Chamberlin, Connie Otto and Kyla Thompson. They served dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. as Finn Hill students brought family and friends in for a laugh and a bite to eat.
"Students dream of the opportunity to have their principals and teachers serve dinner for them," said Principal Victor Scarpelli.
This is Finn Hill's fifth year participating in this fast food fundraiser. Finn Hill gets 20 percent of the profits that McDonald's made during the three hours that the staff worked. The money will go to help purchase books and supplies.
