Enthusiastic rededication

Children play on the newly rededicated Dinosaur Bone play structure in Volunteer Park on Friday, June 29. The play sculpture, first unveiled in 1961, had been in disrepair and required a thorough restoration. Built to honor Dorothy Block, a park commissioner and civic activist, the sculpture was designed by Charles W. Smith and restored by Seattle's Artisan Finishes. The Block family, along with community members and city representatives, attended the rededication. The play sculpture is located near the Volunteer Park wading pool.[[In-content Ad]]
