If you heard the word "Wow!" over and over again in Magnolia on Friday, June 15, you have the agents of Windermere Real Estate to thank.
Nearly 30 volunteers from the Windermere Magnolia office descended upon Catharine Blaine School and the Community Center, wielding wheelbarrows, shovels and rakes as part of their citywide Community Service Day.
The result is a transformation from awfully weedy to absolutely wonderful. It was a lot of hard, rain-soaked work, and Windermere deserves a communitywide pat on the back.
Special thanks also go to Magnolia Master Gardener Bill Horn for his invaluable expertise, Blaine volunteers Sandy Nielsen and Brenda Fowler for pitching in and Albertson's for their generous donation of bottled water and snacks for the hard-working volunteers.
Magnolia is a great place to live for so many reasons, but number one has to be the caring community of people who are willing to lend a helping hand.
