Discovery Park overlook closed for repairs

Seattle Parks and Recreation closed the North Bluff Overlook and viewing platform at Discovery Park on Friday, March 22. The overlook and viewing platform are located directly west of the Daybreak Star Cultural Center, 5011 Bernie Whitebear Way.

Recent slide activity on the north bluff has occurred near the viewing platform. Seattle Parks and Recreation is working to assess the damage from the slide and determine the stability of the viewing platform.

The platform has been fenced off and closed for public use.

Discovery Park is a 534-acre natural area park operated by Seattle Parks and Recreation. It is the largest city park in Seattle and occupies most of the former Fort Lawton military base site.
