Daybreak Star Indian Art Gallery hosts new show

The Daybreak Star Indian Art Gallery in Discovery Park is pleased to present Native Past and Present, a series of dramatic portraits by Andrew Goseyun Morrison (Apache and Haida). After growing up in Seattle, Morrison studied art at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Museum School of Fine Art in Boston. His paintings passionately portray Native people from varying times and generations in a vibrant style that reflects his Indigenous heritage, his spirituality, his boundless idealism, and his graceful youthfulness.

This exhibition is organized by United Indians of All Tribes Foundation and co-sponsored by 4Culture and the Mayor's Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs.

The public is invited and refreshments will be provided as well as a musical performance by guitarist Joel White.

The mission of United Indians of All Tribes Foundation, a Seattle-based nonprofit organization founded in 1970, is to foster and sustain a strong sense of identity, tradition, and well-being among the Indian people in the Puget Sound area by promoting their cultural, economic, and social welfare.
