First it was an elusive black bear, then a cougar was seen streaming through the neighborhood. Then teams of raccoons and dive-bombing owls.
Now, coyotes?
Magnolia resident Sarah Dundas, coming home from soccer at about 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 15, spied a coyote in the alley near her home in the 3200 block of 21st Avenue West. Dundas' mother, Pam, kept the headlights of the minivan trained on the beast while Dundas fumbled for her phone/camera.
"I was kind of freaked out because my family and I own chickens and he started licking his mouth like he'd just eaten something," Dundas said. "So mom and I got freaked that he ate the chickens, but they were are already closed up in their coops." The family dog, a Shiba Inu named Jenny was in the house and didn't bark.
This was Dundas' first encounter with a coyote. She said she always has her camera with her. She said her dad, is from Montana and told her coyotes don't attack people.
Dundas said her mother often sees owls while jogging in the park, but never a bear or a cougar.[[In-content Ad]]
