Julie Cox, interim principal at Catharine Blaine K-8 School, has been named principal, effective July 1.
Interim Superintendent of Seattle Public Schools Susan Enfield made the announcement on Friday, May 18.
Cox has served in numerous educational positions, including literary coach of Hmong International Academy in Minneapolis, Minn.; elementary principal at the American School of Bombay in Mumbai, India; elementary-middle school principal at American Community School in Amman, Jordan and principal at Groveland Park Elementary School in St. Paul, Minn. She has also served as elementary curriculum specialist for Seattle Public Schools and as an elementary teacher at Seattle’s Viewlands Elementary.
Cox holds a Masters of Education, Language Arts from Seattle Pacific University, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from Oregon State University and has her Washington State Administrative Certification.
