The warm afternoon sun, ice-cold beer, barbequed ribs, chicken and hot links accompanied by corn on the cob or cole slaw, the click of putters on the practice green and the strains of Seattle jazz drifting across the golf course can mean only one thing: Jazz on the Green is on again at the Interbay Golf Course.
This year promises to be even better with a new awning over the patio to help shade the sun or, if that rare summer shower comes along, to keep the jazz fans dry.
A lineup of great music includes the Roosevelt Jazz Band, John Bishop, Pearl Django and Stickshift Annie with Kimball and the Fugitives. And you never know who might drop by to sit in with one of the bands.
A new feature this year will be a reserved seating area and full table service for those having dinner, and of course, there will be the usual selection of great beer, red and white wine and soft drinks to accompany the food, and to bring your soul into harmony with the music.
Make a day of it with a round of golf before food and music, or indulge the family in some miniature golf before or after the jazz performance. The first concert begins on Thursday, July 12, and the series will run each Thursday through the end of August. The music starts at 5:30 p.m. and goes until 8:30 p.m.
It's all happening at the Interbay Golf Course, 2501 15th Ave. W. (285-2200).
