Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce

November starts the ball rolling on a partnership with The Vera Project and the Queen Anne Chamber for a monthly art walk on Uptown Queen Anne Avenue. The committee is forming now, and all are welcome to join. Meetings start Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Tin Lizzy Lounge (600 Queen Anne Ave. N.) at 10 a.m. Future meetings will be posted on the QACC website.

December marks a busy time for small and large businesses alike in the Queen Anne neighborhood. Dec. 6 kicks off the holiday shopping for Upper Queen Anne with Holiday Magic, with the Avenue trees being lit prior. The street will feature Santa at HomeStreet Bank (1835 Queen Anne Ave. N.), Dickens carolers (sponsored by Queen Anne Umpqua Bank) strolling on the Ave and shopping opportunities.

(P.S. A bank account has been set up at HomeStreet Bank to accept donations for the lighting of the trees, as the merchants on Upper Queen Anne Avenue absorb the cost; it is not done through the city. On that note, a huge thank you to Smilebox for its monetary contribution to Holiday Magic!)

Umpqua Bank will put out cards for you to pick up at the local businesses that will get you free gift wrapping — just shop locally, bring in your card and your package will be wrapped free of charge. Watch for the cards in the local shops on the Avenue.

Watch for the holiday tree lot in the Queen Anne Avenue Safeway parking lot, which Boy Scout Troop 72 is partnering with Queen Anne Helpline. You can volunteer to help out by calling (206) 282-1540.

If you would like to help an individual this holiday season, the Helpline Giving Tree needs gift cards for teens — $25 to $50 is the usual card value.

Membership in the chamber has its benefits: If you have a special event happening in December and you are a member, we will post this onto the website for free. To join, call Charley Shore at (206) 412-5802 or email contact@qachamber.org.
