Classical KING-FM 98.1 to celebrate Public Radio Music Month

Classical KING-FM 98.1 will join other public-radio stations across the country in marking Public Radio Music Month during April with local concerts, live broadcasts and interviews.

As part of Public Radio Music Month, KING-FM will produce a live performance on April 12 at 8 p.m. featuring pianist Craig Sheppard. Following his performance, Sheppard will talk about his recent adventures on “NW Focus Live,” with Sean MacLean.

Local public-radio stations air nearly 5 million hours of music per year, the majority of which is local programming. KING-FM reaches more than 300,000 on-air listeners each week, plus a global audience online of 1.5 million annually.

More than 180 public-radio stations nationally have full-time music formats, and another 400 play music as part of their programming lineups.
A recent study of the public-radio system found that one in three listening hours was to music.

Public Radio Music Month will run through April 30.[[In-content Ad]]
