If your daily drive, walk or bike ride takes you past the Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center on Lake Washington, you've watched its long-planned expansion grow from muddy foundations to soaring new rooflines.
Now come get a closer look and celebrate this Seattle Parks facility's $2.2-million expansion at its grand opening Sunday, Dec. 2, 4-7 p.m. The big event starts with tours of the facility followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a silent auction to benefit the center's public boating programs; the auction is open to everyone. Festivities end on a holiday note with a visit from the Christmas Ship at 6:25 p.m.
