Private construction activity near the Burke-Gilman Trail will disrupt both bicycle and pedestrian use of the trail between Northeast 125th and 135th streets for about 10 work days, excluding weekends, beginning Monday, Aug. 6.
The paved trail will be fenced for about 400 feet north of Northeast 125th. The unpaved running and walking path along the east side of the path will remain open for use.
Signage will direct cyclists to walk their bikes through this section of the trail.
A private construction project includes the installation of several horizontal drain lines into the hillside above the trail. The drains will release excess groundwater that could contribute to continue sloughing of the hillside or a landslide.[[In-content Ad]]
