QUEEN ANNE WALKING TOUR
The Queen Anne Historical Society will have a walking tour of Queen Anne on Saturday, May 4, with Feet First’s David Ramsey serving as the guide. This tour, one of many that weekend celebrating urban-livability advocate Jane Jacobs, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m., starting at Boston Street and Queen Anne Avenue North and ending at Counterbalance Park. COLA MEMBERSHIP MEETING
The Citizens for Off-Leash Areas will have its general membership meeting on Wednesday, May 8, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. It will take place in the Park Board Room at Seattle Parks and Recreation’s headquarters (100 Dexter Ave. N.). FREE RECYCLING EVENT
1-Green Planet will collect old computers, printers, TVs, stereo equipment, large and small appliances, barbecues, lawnmowers, lawn furniture — anything made of metal and anything with a plug — during a recycling event on May 11. The trucks will be stationed in the parking lot of Magnolia United Church of Christ (3555 W. ‘GREAT DECISIONS’ DISCUSSIONS

CITYWIDE STRAW POLL: MAYOR’S RACE
The 36th District Democrats invite all Seattle residents to participate in a straw-poll vote on May 15. Candidates will answer questions relating to city issues and make speeches, starting at 7:30 p.m. It will take place the Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N.
