I want to assure your readers and the residents of the Magnolia area that the Postal Service has every intention to replace a mail collection box that previously was located behind the Magnolia Station.
We had to remove the collection box because of a construction project that is underway. There is no place on our property on which to relocate a box. We have contacted the city of Seattle with a suggestion on where to place a box in the immediate vicinity of the Magnolia Station. To date [Sept. 14], we have not had a response from the city. Once we get approval from the city, a box will be installed and we will let our customers know of the location.
In the meantime, customers may still drop off their mail at the collection box in front of the Magnolia Station. They may also leave their mail for their Letter Carrier to pick up when making their delivery rounds.
