It was another rough night for the Ballard Beavers on Friday, Oct. 21, as the Bothell Cougars mauled the Beavers, 49-22.
Bothell, one of the top teams in the Crown Division, put up 35 points in the first half, while holding the Beavers scoreless. Bothell added 14 more points in the third quarter but failed to score in the fourth quarter.
The Beavers finally got on the board in the third quarter, with a touchdown and a two-point conversion. They scored two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
Despite the lopsided score, Beavers running back Dominic King ran for 156 yards on 12 carries, scoring one touchdown and a two-point conversion. Devaughn Dorsey and Jordan McColloch also scored touchdowns. Quarterback John Verduin Jr., made 12 completions on 26 attempts for 91 yards and no touchdowns.
The loss pushed the Beavers to a season mark of two wins and six losses. An ineligible player on the team forced the Beavers to forfeit an early season victory.
The team ends their season at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, playing the Redmond Mustangs at Memorial Stadium.
