National Night Out on Aug. 7 resulted in hundreds of block parties all over Seattle. Many of those were in Queen Anne.
One of those on lower Queen Anne, attended by representatives from MayorMike McGinn’s office and the Seattle Police Department, was hosted by the Church of Scientology on West Third and Harrison Street . Local band, Daisy Chain, provided the entertainment; neighbors ate barbecued hot dogs, hamburgers and potluck; drug education materials were available courtesy of the church’s anti-drug campaign and invitations were passed out to the Aug. 11 “Picnic at the Precinct,” which provided an opportunity to meet local police officers and discuss crime issues in the neighborhood.
