Yeesh! Will this never end?
Well, maybe it wasn't all bad. There were definitely some bright spots throughout 2010, and some might even say there were more rays of light than gray clouds--although one wouldn't know it by December's decidedly sopping weather.
But yes, there were great moments for both Queen Anne and Magnolia. A dumping ground at Gilman Drive West was transformed into a thriving and lush public garden, area schools received high marks, Thomas C. Wales Park opened after two years of work and the folks at FOLKpark received a $750,000 infusion of funding to redo lower Kinnear Park.
Several businesses opened and some closed. Neighborhood sports teams took home championships, and some narrowly missed the gold.
We said goodbye to some of our beloved and said hello to new principals and to kids who have never trick-or-treated before atop Queen Anne Hill or in the Village.
We even went and got ourselves a new mayor--though upon which end of the spectrum that news fits we'll leave to you.

And lastly, Happy New Year!
