Beatrice Sylvester, age 95, peacefully passed away in her sleep on February 17 at Emeritus Montclair Park Assisted Living in Poulsbo, WA. Born in Seattle she spent nearly all of her life on Queen Anne Hill, where she and husband, Marvin, raised their three daughters. Bee, as she was called throughout her life, was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin in 2000, and three brothers and a sister. She is survived by her three daughters and son-in-laws: Rosanne Sylvester Bold and Karl from Spokane; Betty Jo Sylvester Hoogerwerf and Dave from Whidbey Island; and Margie Sylvester Harris and Jim from Poulsbo. Bee was devoted to her family, which included ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Bee loved to sew and belonged to the same sewing group for much of her adult life. Bowling was another hobby, spending many years in a Sunday mixed league at Queen Anne Bowl. When her girls were older she worked for the Seattle School District (1968-1978) as a Service Aide for hearing impaired students at John Marshall Junior High and Roosevelt High School. She was a life member of Eastern Star Occidental Chapter 28 Grand Jurisdiction of Washington.
After retirement, Bee and Marvin moved to Mill Creek and began traveling throughout the U.S. in their motor home (Sam). They also enjoyed several trips abroad.
A memorial service will be held at a later time. Donations can be made to Oasis House Ministries, P.O. Box 1351, Silverdale, WA, 98383 or Franciscan Hospice, 2901 Bridgeport Way W, University Place, WA, 98466.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Emeritus Montclair Park/Haven Crest Memory Care Unit and to Rev. Clark at Oasis House Ministries.[[In-content Ad]]
