A boy in the 1300 block of North 121st Street let his cat in around midnight on Oct. 12 and found the cat limping and with blood near its mouth.
A veterinarian told the boy's mother the cat had a "wad of metal," possibly a bullet, lodged in its chest cavity.
The mother said she has no idea who could be responsible for harming the cat. Police told her to call if she obtained additional information about the incident.
(Editor's note: The cat underwent surgery on Monday, Oct. 15, and remains in critical condition. The cat's owner told Seattle Animal Control that her son had heard a loud bang in front of their home around 9 p.m. on Oct. 12.
The Seattle Animal Control is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects responsible for the shooting. Those convicted of animal cruelty face a fine of up to $5,000, a year in prison or both. Those with information about the shooting should call Seattle Animal Control, at 386-7387.)[[In-content Ad]]
