Alzheimer's breakfast event set for May 8

The Western and Central Washington Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, headquartered at 100 W. Harrison St., is staging a benefit breakfast May 8 at Hyatt at Olive 8 (1635 Eighth Ave.)

Magnolia resident Bob Le Roy is president and CEO of the association.

“I believe we will offer and educational and inspiring program,” he said. “Our goal is to educate guests regarding our programs and services and inspire them to support the Alzheimer’s Association and our vision of a world without Alzheimer’s disease.”

The doors open at 7 a.m.; the program, hosted by Lisa Van Cise of KING-5 TV, begins at 7:30 a.m. and is scheduled to run an hour. The featured speaker is Tom Ruttkay, whose wife is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s.

“The breakfast is an important fund-raising event for us,” Le Roy noted. “Although it is free to attend and we don’t suggest a minimum donation, we hope each guest will make a meaningful gift in support of our mission and those we serve.”

To register for a table or seat, contact events manager Sally Chong at schong@alz.org or (206) 529-3865.

Anyone who can’t attend the breakfast can participate at a “virtual table” and make an on-line donation at www.alz.org/alzwa/in_my_community_17497.asp.
