A Grand time

The Puget Sound Traditional Jazz Society holds its second monthly concert at the Ballard Elks Lodge this Sunday, March 18, at 12:30 p.m. For years the society held its events in the Mountaineers Building in Lower Queen Anne.

March happens to be time for the yearly Grand Dominion Jazz Band performance. Comprising musicians from California and British Columbia as well as Washington state, the band serves up New Orleans-style jazz under the direction of pianist Bob Pelland.

Pelland's sidemen include trumpeter Bob Jackson, trombonist Jim Armstrong, reed player Gerry Green, bassist Mike Fay and banjo and guitar strummer Jim Marsh.

The Ballard Elks is at 6411 Seaview Ave. N.W. Admission is $13 general, $10 PSTJS.
