Champagne Diner opens in Interbay

Champagne Diner has opened in Interbay, taking over Suzana Olmos’ Citizen Six space.

From some of the minds that brought Damn the Weather to Pioneer Square, Champagne is open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week, offering elevated diner fare at 945 Elliott Ave. W.

Co-owner Bryn Lumsden told Queen Anne News about the farm-to-table diner concept back in June. He’s lined up Chef Brian Miyamoto (Art of the Table, Restaurant Zoe, Morimoto Waikiki) to head the kitchen, and his wife handled Champagne’s interior design.

The menu includes burgers, fish and chips, a grilled half chicken with chimichurri and succotash, mussel sandwich, meatloaf dinner and a $75 Cowboy Cut Ribeye for two. A diner classic not often seen these days is the egg cream soft drink (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry). For dessert, Champagne has an Ovaltine pie.

Champagne Diner also offers a bevy of cocktails, as well as beer, wine and cider. Lumsden used to tend bar at Rob Roy in the late 2000s. People can also take drinks to go in the bottle shop.

As for Olmos, who help coordinate Champagne’s takeover of her Interbay space, she’s moving her Korean-Mexican restaurant into the old Crow spot in Uptown, changing the name to Lazy Susan, a childhood nickname for her. She expects to open in late August.

Eden Hill to only offer tasting menu

Chef Maximillian Petty will begin exclusively offering tasting menus at his Eden Hill Restaurant on Sept. 5.

While there will no longer be a la carte options, some favorites will transition to Petty’s Eden Hill Provisions restaurant, which is expected to open in the former Cupcake Royale space down the street on Queen Anne Avenue North. Provisions is currently slated to open in late September.

Eden Hill Restaurant’s change over to a 12-course tasting menu ($160) and five-course tasting menu ($85) will also mean new hours, from Thursday through Sunday. The last a la carte service will be on Sept. 1.

People wanting to make reservations for Sept. 5 and beyond can do so on Tock. Walk-ins will be welcome for the five-course menu.

Paragon is back

A Queen Anne classic for the past 25 years, Paragon is back in business after a three-month-long update by new owners Kim and Eric Rogozienski.

Todd Ivester brought the Paragon concept to Seattle from San Francisco, taking the bar and grill over in 1999.

The Rogozienski’s bought the business, closing it down in May for a deep clean, kitchen upgrade and a revised menu, which still has burgers, fish and chips, pasta and several appetizers. A limited menu, which includes pulled chicken mac n’ cheese sliders, pickled deviled eggs and a Pacific Northwest spin on poutine, is available 4:30-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, and again from 10 p.m. to closing.

Paragon has a happy hour from 3-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, with live music starting at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. The Seattle Jazz Quartet plays 8-9 p.m. on Wednesdays, followed by a Jazz Open Mic from 9-11.
