Archivist Midori Okazaki will be the guest speaker at the Magnolia Historical Society’s annual meeting on April 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Magnolia Lutheran Church (2414 31st Ave. W.)

Okazaki is the branch archivist at the Puget Sound Branch of the Washington State Archives, and will discuss property records, maps, and other research resources.

The society will also present Monica Wooton with the 2018 Historical Person of the Year award for her wide-ranging body of work with the organization, including her role as project manager on the first two Magnolia history books (a third is now in the planning stages).

The event is also a chance to meet the MHS Board for 2018-2019 of Dee St. George, Kathy Cunningham, Lisa Meoli, Greg Shaw, Bruce Jones, and Jeff Cunnningham.
