Seattle Pacific University is planning to build a five-story dormitory at 3309 Sixth Ave. W.

The new dorm, called the Irondale Residence Hall, will replace four houses on the site that the school owns.

The building will include between 140 and 150 beds and will measure about 70,000 square feet in size, including one and one-half levels of partially below-grade parking.

The building will also include 69 vehicle-parking stalls, 61 bicycle parking stalls, a plaza, terrace and roof deck.

Seattle city officials approved the environmental impact statement for the project in November. SPU is still in the process of securing the construction permit from the city. But the school has not announced any plans to begin demolition of the homes on the site.
