Queen Anne Helpline is collecting pre-packaged bags of groceries from residents in an ongoing food drive.

People are asked to pack the items into a doubled grocery bag at home and drop them off between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays or Thursdays at the Queen Anne Helpline office, 311 W. McGraw St. The bags will then be delivered directly to people requesting assistance.

Each bag should have the following:

  • Five individual packets of instant oatmeal or box of cereal;
  • Two individual-serving cups of fruit or applesauce;
  • One can of soup
  • One can of chili;
  • A sleeve of crackers;
  • Three granola bars;
  • A small jar of peanut butter or can of tuna;
  • One package of pasta plus one jar/can of pasta sauce;
  • One box of Rice-a-Roni or similar product;
  • One can of beans, such as black, kidney or garbanzo beans;
  • One can of corn;
  • One can of fruit/fruit cocktail;
  • One travel size of toothpaste;
  • One bar of soap;
  • One roll of toilet paper.

Students who need to acquire service learning hours can call Queen Anne Helpline to see how they can participate.
