Former Queen Anne & Magnolia News publisher Mike Dillon will sign copies of “Notes from the Garden: Creating a Pacific Northwest Sanctuary” from noon to 2 p.m. June 18 at Magnolia’s Bookstore, 3206 W. McGraw St. in Magnolia Village.

The book is written by Madeleine Wilde, who died in 2018; Wilde wrote her “Notes from the Garden” column for the Queen Anne & Magnolia News for more than two decades. Dillon assembled a collection of her best work for the book. Chatwin Books of Seattle is the publisher.

Wilde’s husband, David Streatfield, professor emeritus in the department of landscape architecture at the University of Washington, wrote the foreword; Mark Hinshaw, architect and former architectural critic for the Seattle Times and Crosscut, did the illustrations.
