Beginning last week, toll rates for the state Route 99 tunnel increased by 3 percent, or 5 to 10 cents for vehicles with two axles, depending on the time of day. Drivers with a Good To Go! passed continue to pay the lowest toll rate on all roads.

The increase is part of the scheduled toll rate plan adopted by the Washington State Transportation Commission when the initial rates were set in 2018. This plan directed a 3 percent toll rate increase every three years, pending review and possible adjustment by the Commission.

The weekday peak Good To Go! rate for two-axle vehicles increased to $2.70, and the weekday Pay By Mail rate for two-axle vehicles increased to $4.70.
