The Queen Anne Helpline has received a $30,000 boost, thanks to a two-year grant from the Safeco Insurance Fund.

Executive Director Lisa Moore said the nonprofit is “very excited” to receive the funding — which will cover the general operating costs for its homelessness prevention work — and called it an acknowledgment of the effect their efforts have had.

“The fact that we received this grant really is a strong validation for the work that we’ve done to be able to collect data that demonstrably shows our impact,” she said.

The fund was established in 2006, and directs a majority of its funding to organizations and programs that serve Washington state and Oregon.
