It’s nearly Thanksgiving, and it’s past time that Halloween decorations
come down.
Seattle City Light is asking whoever is
responsible for the adhesive faces posted on the streetlight globes
on Eighth Place West — from around Marshall Park to as far north as
West Blaine Street — to remove the decorations, which the utility
department says are a public safety issue. The decorations reduce
visibility, according to City Light, especially during the darker
fall and winter months.
City Light would like the responsible
parties to make the removal, rather than having to use its own
resources to do so. Moving forward, the agency would prefer these
decorations not be put up, but if they are, they should be removed
within two weeks after Halloween.
