To expedite COVID-19 vaccinations, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has permitted Albertsons Companies, including Safeway, Albertsons and Haggen, and other retailers to help reach all communities in Washington state with vaccination delivery.

Safeway, Albertsons and Haggen have 177 community pharmacies in Washington, and as of Thursday in-store pharmacies began delivering vaccinations by appointments for those who are eligible under the state’s tiered approach.

All community members who are currently eligible for the vaccine can make an appointment at their neighborhood pharmacies by visiting Appointments are available online only — they cannot be made over the phone — and are scheduled at staggered times in order to avoid lines and extended wait times. Once an appointment is booked, the vaccine and the second dose are guaranteed.
