The Storm secured the title after defeating the Las Vegas Aces, 92-59, Oct. 6 in a three-game sweep. According to HistoryLink.org, Storm point guard Sue Bird became the third player in WNBA and NBA history to win titles in three separate decades, and Stewart, a forward, became the fifth player to ever win multiple Finals MVP awards after picking up her second. The Storm got its start in 1999, and the Storm began playing in 2000. The Storm won its first championship in 2004. They won their second and third championship titles in 2010 and 2018.
